How do people try to remember what Dr. King believed in ?
Martin Luther King's day is federal holiday in the United States. In this day people try to remember King. It's seen as a day to promote equal rights for all the Americans. This day schools give lesson about Martin Luther King life and all the work that he did. For example the fight against racism. Nowadays the federal legislation has ruled that all the americans in this day have to give some of their time as a volunteers in citizen action groups.

Martin Luther King Day is quite an important celebration in the United States.
ReplyDeleteEvery year Americans try to remember what Dr. King made for the people by celebrating this National Holiday. First of all, all the schools close for the day and people try to remember what Dr. King believed in. Then people try to help someone on that day and to think about how they can help people around them. What’s more, in 1969 Dr. King’s wife opened the Martin Luther King Jr Center because she wanted to help to change the society.
Martin Luther King achieves eliminate the law that imposed racial segregation on buses. On 28 August 1963, 200,000 people were heard in Washington. It was the climax of the struggle King, crowned with the Nobel Peace Prize and the Civil Rights Act of 1964. This law prohibited racial segregation in schools, public facilities, jobs and misrule of requirements for voters. Nowadays is celebrated in schools the School Day of Non-violence and Peace, to remember what made Luther King.

It's a day to promote human rights of people of color race made by Martin Luther King, where a number of volunteers help disadvantaged people in the street or to integrate slum dwellers. Also make marches through the city in honor of Martin Luther King.
Martin Luther King, who did lots of remarcable actions to negro people, has his own day in the United States. The third day of January people try to do things to the others, like go to serve to the homeless or afford yours personal things. Moreover, it's celebrate around the world as in Toronto or Hiroshima.

Dr King is a person who all of us will remember for his values. He strived to make the people free with their human rights. He did a boycott, 382 days, to Montgomery bus system. He also, did a march with 200.000 people for the civil rights in august 1963.
Martin Luther King is a person who changed the world and because of that, the American people remember him on the third Monday of January, that it is a federal holiday for all them.

ReplyDeleteHe led the 1955 Montgomery Bus Boycott and helped found the Southern Christian Leadership Conference in 1957. The Montgomery Alabama Bus Boycott lasted for 382 days.
On 28th August 1963, Martin Luther King organised a now historic march to Washington to show the importance of solving the United States racial problems. About 200.000 people gathered and listened to his immortal words.
In 1964, Martin Luther King was awared the Nobel Peace Prize and he did the Civil Rights Acts.
On the third Monday of January each year, which is around King's birthday, it is celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day.It is an American federal holiday that people do to try to remember what Dr. King believed in.

January 15th is the date when Martin Luther King was born. 1955 in Alabama was the time when happened the Montgomery Bus Boycott, where this person took part in because of the arrest of her wife, Coretta. Which lasted 382 days.
ReplyDeleteIn August of 1963, he delivered a speech called "I have a dream" in which he calls for an end to racism in the United States. The speech was delivered to over 200,000 civil rights supporters.
Eventually, due to all the things Martin Luther King did, from the Civil Rights of 1964 there are equality of races in the US. One giant leap in the history.
People, to remember for what he fighted, is celebrated the Black History Month, which is an annual observance for remembrance of important people and events in the history of the African diaspora.
Martin Luther King was an american civil rights activist, he defended equality for everyone, especially for the black-skinned people. He was murdered at age 39 by a gun shot. He has become a very important figure in terms of defending civil rights. Every third monday of january Martin Luther King's day is celebrated to remeber him and what he did. This day has not been celebrated officialy for long and it has no specific traditions. It's a day in which people try to promote equal rights for everyone, regardless of their origin, skin color or the religion they follow. In the United States, school students learn about Martin Luther King's life and ideals. People walk through the streets of their villages all over the country in his memory and, in addition, voluntary work is especially promoted on this day.

To celebrate the day of Martin Luther King in the United States they organize different celebrations on the third Monday of January each year, because it's almost the day of Martin Luther King birth (January 15). To commemorate his work heading the movement for civil rights for African Americans and their involvement as an activist in different protests against the Vietnam War and poverty in general.

In 1962 he organized a nonviolent protest in Birmingham, the protest lasted 382 days. A year later (1963) organized the 1963 march on Washington, and attended by 200,000 people. He delivered a speech to promote equality between human rights.The name of the speech was "I have a dream". In 1964, America passed civil rights laws and was a great opportunity for African Americans changed their way of life.
