  1. As the Elvis' song says, he hates that someone steps on his shoes, that's why he uses the expression "lay off of my shoes" to show his anger. In fact, all of us need our space and we don't like people to disturb us in our "precious moments".

"Lay off of my bedroom", that's what I'd say if someone disturbs me while I'm listening to music, because that's the moment when I can relax and forget all my worries for a while. So I can't stand that anyone mess it up.

  2. Personally, I don't want people to touch my hair.
Time ago, when I had a really long hair that was always held on a pony tail because it was more confortable to me, everyone was continously touching it and trying to take off my rubber-band. It was kind of annoying, so now, if someone touches it too much I get a bit irritated, unless, of course, it's my hairdresser who does it.

  3. I think this elvis presley song, has another meaning. I'm pretty sure he's just beeing metaphoric, and he just want to say that he doesn't cares about all the coments that the people could say. with this sentence "don't you step on my blue suede shoes. You can do anything but lay off of my blue suede shoes." he wants to say that nobody can change the way he is and that he will continue being how he is, and if they accept elvis like that, fine, and if they don't he doesn't want them around him.

  5. I think that when Elvis Presley says "lay off of my shoes", he speaks in double meaning, because each person is different from other. On the other hand everyone needs their space and time to relax. I think that he's right, because if I don't have free time I will go crazy. Otherwise nobody changes their own character so if someone doesn't accept you as you are the best advice is to stay away. In life everything it´s up to you.

  6. Personally, I don't like when people mess up with my personal life, because I'm sure that everyone has his own issues and I think that I should solve my own problems and live my life as I like. So if someone tries to get involved in my life, I would say "lay off of my personal life".

I think that Elvis Presley's intention with this song is to tell us that he is just how he is when he says "don't step on my blue suede shoes", so he wants people to accept him like that, to leave the bad comments apart and let him be.

  7. In this song, Elvis is really upset due to someone steps on his shoes and he hates it because he loves his shoes. In order that someone don't steps his shoes, he says "step in my face" because he prefers it so that someone don't steps on his shoes.
I'm very agree with him, I don't like when someone disturbs me, for example, when I'm playing the guitar, it's a very relaxing moment for me and I prefer stay alone in my bedroom.

  8. The Elvis Presley song, has double meaning, you could interpretate that Elvis is not really talking about his shoes. I think that this "lay off of my shoes" is a nice way to say "get out of my life".
Sometimes I also want to say " get out of my life" or simply "get out of my mind", so there are a lot of people who is always trying to manipulate me and say me how I have to think and what I have to do. I absolutelly don't like this because I'm old enough to have my own way to see the world, and for these reason I'm completely agree with the Rock's king.

  9. I think this song Elvis Presley, uses exemple "not on my blue suede shoes" like hecould be used any otherexample because the meaning isn’t it that. Elvis which means that nobody can change his way of being because he has his style of live and nobody can change it.
I think Elvis has absolutely right because if there is someone who will not accept you as you are, it is better that this person was very far from you

  11. In the privious song Elvis said that he hates when someone steps in him shoes because i supose that shoes probably will be very special and if someone step in it , it ' ll be very annoying for he. Furthermore Elvis said that he only wants one thing and it's that person who is annoying he , lay off their shoes.
In my opinion all persons have moments when we want that people lays we off. Personaly a moment that i want to be alone is when i'm lisening music because i'm very relaxing and don't want that someone interrumpts me.

  12. In my opinion, Elvis, with this phrase ('lay off of my shoes'), wants to say that the girl to whom it's addressed this song, have to respect him.

The message of the song is something like that: You can do whatever you want, but always respecting me. The phrase 'lay off my shoes' can be a metaphor to say 'Respect me'.

  13. People tend to share their own thinks with people who are important to them. As Elvis song, sometimes you share what you have or maybe you let someone to do what they want but there are other times when you have something so valuable for you that you are identified with it and you don't want that anyone pertake of it. I'm not sure but I think that what I said before can be an explain about why he said 'you can do what you want but lay off of my shoes'. Everyone need something that he can know that it only partake of him, something that it want to do alone in his own world remote of external factors.

  15. Sometimes you just need to be alone to relax and think differently that the way you are doing. In these moments the last think you want is that someone comes and disturbs you, and and you just think about them to lay off of you. Acually when you need the most to be alone is often a moment when people asks you what's wrong and it is then when you say to them to lay off of you.

  16. In my opinion, Elvis Presley says “lay off of my shoes” to tell us that his shoes are a bit of his personality, his confidence on the stage, his tool to move, to dance… for Elvis his shoes are a part of himself that’s why he doesn’t want someone step on them.

I don’t want people to step on my clothes, my laptop, my school notes, my diary… things that are really essential for me or for my daily life. In addition I desperately want people to lay off of me when I’m studying, listening to music, talking to a friend by mobile phone, having a shower… those moments in which I need silence, relax and be on my own.
