Welcome to this new school year, 2010-2011!!!
September is here again and this year is different as we start a week before, BUT this is not negative!!!
We have reasons to think and believe that this will be positive and joyful. Can you tell me why????

Firstly, when I read on the note that we recieved from school saying that the classes would start a week before this cours I wasn't capable of finding any positive aspects.
As the holidays were going by I realised that there could be some advantatges on it.
On the one hand, we will have a week on holiday in February. This will allow us to take a break and to take up the course again having our batteries recharged.
On the other hand, being sensible about the horizon of this course: the university entrance examination, the earliest we start studying and going to school, the better results we will obtain on the examination. I want to achieve good results to gain admittance to the degree I want to do, so I think that starting before can be considered a good new this course.

Honestly this is a very difficult question. Especially now, when summer has finished. But it's true that there's something good on this: we will have a vacation week in March!
At first we thought all negative and we still seem to have some negative aspects for the future

first we'll have a week off in February (it has negative aspects to parents with young children)
second serve that free time to relax and turn up more active
third have a little vacation in a season in which we have never had free time can generate experience never experienced before.
Surely you can see other positive aspects but that depends on the person,I still think it has more negative than positive but we will see that this is the course

Hello!
I think we have reasons to think and believe that begin school a week earlier will be positive and joyful because, in my expirience, I think that every situation has its positive side.
Begining a week earlier means we'll have a complete week of holidays in March apart from Setmana Santa and we'll have long weekends of three, four and even five days very well distributed during the year. We have to work really hard this last year if we want to get good results so have occasionally breaks will we really good for all of us.
I am really reasoned to get good results, so the earlier the better.

I thnk that start one week before isn't negative because in march we will have a holiday week and I think that this year we need this week in march because the last two months we have to study a lot and we can use this week to do it.

ReplyDeleteIt's a big pity saying goodbye to holidays...at first we are all upset about starting lessons again but, it was time to start working a bit. We can`t spent the whole days without doing anything, we must do something with our lifes, something productive.
The school has got positive aspects, it's not only homework or exams, we have to think that going to school now, will be rewarded in the future. I personally don't want to be a person without knowledges. We are lucky to have the possibility to study in a school, but that's a fact we don't value.
I finally say that this is not going to be so hard if we handle it with calm, take it easy and try to enjoy everyday as much as possible.

To start I want to welcome everyone. I know is dificult come back to school, but not only for students, for the teachers too.
I am sure this year is going to be really positive If we work some more. The best we can do is forget politician and only think about our future, because they only make mistakes lately.

I don't think it is a good idea. You start school one week before so you lose one week of holiday. Then I will have one free week at February or March and I think it is great for me becouse that week will be necessary to me to study.
But if you think about it, some parents of young children work and they won't be able to care of their children, so that children will be alone.

I think that start a week before its positive because in March we will have a week of holiday called the white week.
I wanted to start school earlier to do the baccalaureate and go as soon as possible to university.
I believe that these courts will be shorter than the others provided that will be finish before.

When I known that school start before, I wasn't understand, because every year we started at 15th of September more o less.
But now I think that is positive start before, in March we need a week to rest because we'll feel tired and exhausted.

I believe that going on holidays in February could be good, becouse we'll be able to get a rest and relax from all the stress that is coused by school, personally I believe this week is perfectly timed just after the exam week so we can have a good rest and for me thats a positive fact about this holiday week.

At first, when the teacher told me that we would enter a week before, was not quite normal, because my friends who were not of Catalonia began as usual.
After a few days, saying that we would enter a week earlier, I was told that in February would celebrate the White week's, but even happier when I started the first week in school and knew that in February to recover

Hi Ester! I read Laura’s comment and I agree with her opinion. When I knew that we would start week early it seems to me that was really negative, I saw how my summer was finishing and in these moments I hate the department of education.
ReplyDeleteSince we have started the school some teachers said us how many advantages we are going to have this year because we have started a week before.
On the one hand we are going to have a holidays week in March and it is really good because before this week we are going to do the global exams. Another good reason is that we have more time to situate in the school year and the first quarter (three month period) is longer than last year.
On the other hand the summer is a little shorter than previous years and we have to change our ‘summer chip’ soon, however we are in the last year in the school and we should change the summer chip and pay attention!
I hope that this year pass quickly and we don’t find we tired and exausted.

ReplyDeleteWhen I Knew that we began before this course I did not like the idea, but with the time you can think that it is not so bad.
On the one hand, we started before but we will have a week in Feburary to take a break and relax during these days and it will be good to relax after having had examintations and had studied.
Also it is better the weather in septmeber that in Febrar because the wather is not cold and you can go to the beach and tings like this that you make in summer.
You have advantages and desadvantages with this topic and I don't know if it is positive to have this week in February or not.

The good thing about having started before the school is that in February we will have a holiday week. In my opinion, start the day While on the other hand, nobody wants to start school a week before, because that means that summer is over and we have to go back to school, but always has to be positive, as you start before , the faster you will spend the day and then came the winter holidays, and of course better, the summer holidays.

Last year, some of our teachers told us that on this school year, we were going to start school one week earlier which is different for us.
ReplyDeleteWhen I knew that, I thought that it hadn’t had any positive side, but as we have been informed about this, I think that it’s better for us.
On summer, we have more or less three months of holidays so that’s enough to get relaxed. We have one week less to not to be doing anything on September, but it’s one week of holidays on February that would be so good to have a break in the middle of the school year.
This year is the last one, so we have to work hard to get good results.

I think it isn't as bad as it seems. First, I didn't like the idea that the year started earlier, but when I knew that in March we were going to have a week of holidays I really didn't worry about it. Because in March we are going to be very tired and really we are going to thank this week of holidays. So it is positive for us.
I think this is not negative because beginnig one week before or after the school is to learn something and learn more things in life or the same materials that will help us along our career. This year will be different because we are in the batxillerat is a different level of E.S.O, but help us to examine selectivity because in this 2 years batxillerat learn more important things for life!

Hello, because when i learned, that ahead a week classes because i honestly do not made me much grace. It also has its positive part that if there is a week of vacation in the midst of second quarter because it is also good.

It is hard to go back to school after a great summer, but things are well and now I have to work really because it starts a new course more difficult. I do not like to have started a week before, because you lose a week of summer, but that will be used in March to study, and it will be good to have more chances of passing or climbing note.

Well, this question is very interesting because jo also I have asked it me.
When I find out that we had to begin one week before, I did not like because we were losing holiday, but later, charm better like that because they prepare us better for the selectivity, and it will have very much more time to work.
In conclusion it is better to begin before, knowing that we are one week old in March.

Hello!
This year, when September was starting, I wanted a lot to begin school, so it doesn't matter if was on 7th or on 14th. My reason to want to begin classes was that I was working during August. It's true that I probably prefer a week of holidays than a week of school, but everything is better than to be working in a café!
I think it's the same or even better this week on March, because it's true you start before, but later you have this break. And even better because you probably enjoy more this week, so in March you will be tired.

Is difficult to start school a week early to all but is rewarded with the bye week we have below.
I think not only for students but it is difficult for any teacher as well. ami this idea does not seem bad to me, the holidays are too long and is not a week. Although anyone would prefer.
You just have to put the batteries from the start and keep going!

This year is a little different because we go to school a week before, and I think that is not a bad idea, because we have a free week later.
But the problem is that parents do not have this week and that means that students will not go anywhere, and we will stay at home or in village, but friends do not have the same week, because the week depends on the area where is the school.
What is good is that we will have a free week in the middle of February and this will help in the studies and we can prepare better. This is the first year and will be a new experience.

I really didn't care start the 7 or 14 September, but I prefered to start on 7th because I had wanted to see the friends who I didn't see from June.
Also I think it's better start on 7th then we will have a week in march to rest and prepare the final section of the course and the selectivity.

When I knew that school starts soon, I thought that I didn't like the idea because, although we have a week's holiday in February, this week won't be a holiday, will be a week of study exams and do our homework, the same in Holy Week.
But at least this week we won't go to school!

So, the answer...., well, first of all, this question wasn't easy to answer because if normally the summer is pretty "short" with a less week... It's very short!! jajaja but now, that we have been in the school since 7th september (a month!!) the answer is extremly easy.. YES, I think that is good to start a week earlier because in march we are gonna have a beautiful week to relax and enjoy!

For me isn't a hard question. This year I prefer that school starts earlier because I return earlier too at home because my sister starts the college a day before that we start school and I have to return to Barcelona before. And I prefer arrive here and start the school and see my friends and in the middle of the school year have more holidays. And another positive reason is that is my last year and is more nostalgic.

I don't care if we have started 1 week earlier, because we have the same class days and the same holydays so it's not important for me.
However maybe I prefer this because we have more consecutive holydays and we will be able to spend our holydays in a trip or something like this.
